Repairs
Help my device is broken and won’t turn on!
First thing, is it plugged in? No seriously, this is very common! Check the cord, the whole thing! Is it still not activating? Alright, give us a call, or bring it in! We’ll figure it out together!
How long does a repair take?
All repairs are based on the job. Some jobs can be completed same day, others may take up to a week depending on availability of parts. We would like to offer a turn over time of about 2-3 days, but it always depends. But we keep you in the loop through text, phone or email, always!
What sort of things do you look for?
We check ‘under the hood’ essentially in order to speed up your system by;
- Clearing out unnecessary temp files clogging your data
- Sweeping out malware, programs and viruses that may be eating up resources
- Scanning and Reallocating system resources if necessary
- And finally, recommending upgrades to improve your rig
We only suggest what would help, based on what you use your computer or device for! And you’re not paying for the check or the advice; only the fix!
Will I lose my files?
Not unless you explicitly tell us to. Otherwise your files are safe. Data Recovery and Migration is available, but if you brought your rig in for a fix then your data stays right where it is while we sweep around it. We ensure anything you brought in will still be there when we give it back… Minus viruses and stuff of course!
Do you fix phones, tablets, and game consoles too?
We offer fixes for cracked/damaged screens, dead batteries, warped charging ports and other minor issues. As we expand and grow, we will offer more services for different devices, but for right now, we’re offering up all we can for anyone we can! And remember, if we can’t fix it; you don’t pay for it.
Pricing
Is it going to be expensive?
It’s not going to be free, but let’s be honest; let’s see what your issue is first! Sometimes there are simple or cheap fixes that may surprise you! Other times, the device may be FUBAR! And in that case, it’s cheaper to replace than it is to repair! But check with out pricing page. to get an idea of what we’re offering!
Do you charge just to look at it?
Diagnostics, conversation and knowledge are free. If you decide to have us do the repair, then we’ll take a look and see what we can offer you! But if you decide not to, there’s no charge for the look. See our full pricing page.
How do you justify your pricing?
We do research on competitors in our field in addition to having collectively 50+ years of knowledge in computer repair. We can generally diagnose and ballpark price of a fix, based on what you tell us and what we see. After we do some fox sniffin, we can point to one of our services to get your rig fixed up, fast and safely!
Pickup & Drop-Off
What do you accept or pick up?
Everything computer related almost all electronic gadgets and consoles. We accept certain appliances, but we are primarily a computer and electronics repair store. That means we focus mainly on Computers and Computer Accessories. However that doesn’t mean we won’t accept most electronics and gadgets. Show us what you have and we’ll let you know! We may even offer cash for exotic items and unique devices! See our active service area if you’re interested in our normal travel range!
Do you do pickup and delivery?
Absolutely! We take pickup orders for our customers all over Lee County! We can usually take up to 2-3 Desktop rigs (and as many Laptops as you can carry!) in one go! If you’ve got something big, not enough time, or you’d rather us come fix it up at your place; See our active service area in Lee County Virginia!
What should I bring when I drop off?
- The Device (and it’s power cable if possible)
- The Passkey/Password/Keystroke to unlock it (if possible)
- Any accessories (keyboard, mouse, pen, SD card ect.)
- Your Drivers License/ID (to create a Service Record for your devices!)
Regardless of the condition of your device bring it in with whatever cables and accessories you have with it, and we’ll set up a Service Record and begin the diagnostic once over! Remember, checking and asking questions is always free!
Classes
What kind of classes you offering??
Beginner classes. We want to educate as many people as we can about the tech we use every day. So we start basic and work our way up! Expect basic classes to teach computer maintenance, software basics, networks and internet, as well as passwords, accounts and cookies with browsing! Advanced classes range from technical skills, like programming and photo manipulation to hobbyist skills like AI Music and Digital Rendering. See all classes.
When are Classes being held?
We plan to offer classes in the evenings and nights after 6pm roughly 2 days a week bi-weekly. As Fox Box grows, we will begin offering classes at more regular intervals but as of yet, we do not have a Class Schedule as of yet. Please call, text or email about our classes and schedules as they become available more and more as we continue to grow with our neighbors in Lee County!
What do I need to bring to class?
Please bring a phone or laptop and just show up! Every class we offer is for free and donations are always accepted! Our classes are for community knowledge and experience! If you’ve got some time and some questions; meet us after hours and ask us anything!
